We propose a way to observe the photon ring of the asymptotically anti-de Sitter black hole dual to a superconductor on the two-dimensional sphere. We consider the electric current of the superconductor under the localized time-periodic external electromagnetic field. On the gravity side, the bulk Maxwell field is sent from the AdS boundary and then diffracted by the black hole. We construct the image of the black hole from the asymptotic data of the bulk Maxwell field that corresponds to the… Expand

Einstein Rings in Holography.

- Physics, Medicine
- Physical review letters
- 2019

It is demonstrated that, for a thermal state dual to the Schwarzschild-AdS_{4} spacetime, the Einstein ring is constructed from the response function, which is determined by the total energy of the dual QFT. Expand

Holographic Superconductors

- Physics
- 2008

It has been shown that a gravitational dual to a superconductor can be obtained by coupling anti-de Sitter gravity to a Maxwell field and charged scalar. We review our earlier analysis of this theory… Expand

Stability of Holographic Superconductors

We study the dynamical stability of holographic superconductors. We first classify perturbations around black hole background solutions into vector and scalar sectors by means of a 2-dimensional… Expand

Imaging black holes through the
AdS/CFT
correspondence

- Physics
- 2020

Thermal states in some quantum field theories (QFTs) correspond to black holes in asymptotically AdS spacetime in the $\mathrm{AdS}/\mathrm{CFT}$ correspondence. We propose a direct procedure to… Expand

Non-equilibrium condensation process in a holographic superconductor

- Physics, Materials Science

We study the non-equilibrium condensation process in a holographic superconductor. When the temperature T is smaller than a critical temperature Tc, there are two black hole solutions, the… Expand

Wave optics in black hole spacetimes: the Schwarzschild case

- Physics

We investigate the wave optics in the Schwarzschild spacetime. Applying the standard formalism of wave-scattering problems, the Green function represented by the sum over the partial waves is… Expand

The gravity dual of a p-wave superconductor

- Physics
- 2008

We construct black hole solutions to the Yang-Mills equations in an AdS4-Schwarzschild background which exhibit superconductivity. What makes these backgrounds p-wave superconductors is that the… Expand

Viewing black holes by waves

- Physics

We study scattering of waves by black holes. Solving a massless scalar field with a point source in the Schwarzschild spacetime, waves scattered by the black hole is obtained numerically. We then… Expand

We describe the full nonlinear development of the superradiant instability for a charged massless scalar field coupled to general relativity and electromagnetism, in the vicinity of a… Expand

Gauge gravity duality for d-wave superconductors: prospects and challenges

- Physics

We write down an action for a charged, massive spin two field in a fixed Einstein background. Despite some technical problems, we argue that in an effective field theory framework and in the context… Expand
